Lithops is a unique and original succulent from the Aizaceae family, possessing unique decorative qualities. The plant is native to the sandy and rocky deserts of South Africa, Botswana and Namibia in the Southern and Southeastern parts of Africa.
Bromfield's lithops is a succulent perennial almost stemless. A pair of leaves separated by a crack, back-cone-shaped, greenish-brown, reddish-brown, green, whitish, with a flat top covered with specks and dots. The flower is yellow.
In the period from August to October, buds begin to appear in the sections between the leaves. The flowers of the lithops are comparable in size to the size of the plant itself and look like daisies of white, yellow, orange or pink color. From one incision, from 1 to 3 flowers 2.5-5 cm in diameter with a faint pleasant aroma may appear. In young plants, to save moisture, the flowers open in the middle of the day and close at night, which stops with maturity.
