Lithops is a unique and original succulent from the Aizaceae family, possessing unique decorative qualities. The plant is native to the sandy and rocky deserts of South Africa, Botswana and Namibia in the Southern and Southeastern parts of Africa.
Hooker's lithops is named after Sir Joseph Hooker, who in 1874 assigned this species to Mesembryanthemum (Conophytum). Plants form both small and large (sometimes even very large) clusters. The flowers are yellow, large, sometimes huge, appear in mid-autumn.
