Synningia is a genus from the Gesneriaceae family, originating from tropical Atlantic coastal forests and moist rock slopes of Central and South America (mainly Brazil).
Synningia whitehair is a plant with a woody and slightly thickened tuber with a diameter of 30 cm, the upper part of which partially reaches the surface of the earth. Stems develop from the tuber, herbaceous or semi-woody, erect, up to 30-40 cm high, bearing sessile green leaves collected in whorls. Both stems and leaves are completely covered with silvery-white fluff.
The leaf blade is ovate, up to 15 cm long. In summer, ephemeral flowers appear in adult plants, single or collected in 3-5 brushes. The color is changeable - pink, orange or bright red.
